REAL CONSERVATIVES ARE COLORBLIND

When I was young, I didn't pay any attention to the color of someone's skin. My best friend was Mexican and another couple of friends were Vietnamese, and we would go to their grandmother's, where they lived and eat. To me, their skin color was nothing different then their eye color or their height. Today, people identify themselves by their skin color. I have a hard time understanding why that is. I don't think of myself as white, and don't tell me it is because I haven't ever experienced prejudice, I have. I once was taken into the basement where I worked and told that I deserved to get fired because a male co-worker flicked my rear end while I was looking for parts he needed. He (the co-worker) didn't get any discipline - I was chewed out until I was bawling out of frustration. I was only 16 and it still makes me angry, but I made a decision to never let anyone treat me that way again. I could have made myself a victim and went through the rest of my life feeling like I was being treated unfairly because I am a woman, but I believe we create our own reality. If we believe we are being discriminated against, we will see it everywhere. Not to say that it doesn't happen. I have had it happen more than once, but I use it as an opportunity to move on to something else and learn a lesson. My point is that conservatives don't care about your skin color, or people as a group but we care about each person as an individual with individual experiences and thoughts. We are the bigger tent, because the freedoms we fight for are for every American regardless of sex, race, religion etc. etc. We want to give up more power not take more power - the only thing we want to be powerful is the military - so we can take it to any enemy who dares to attack us. Other than that, we want the people to have the power.
