Giuliani: I think there are parts of the Bible that are interpretive. I think there are parts of the Bible that are allegorical. I think there are parts of the Bible that are meant to be interpreted in a modern context.

Michael Newdow is at it again

Why won't this guy go away? Once again he is bringing a case to court to try to get "Under God" removed from the pledge of allegiance. I am sick to death of the atheists pushing their religion on the rest of us, and that is what atheism is - a religion. Our country was founded on Christian values, indeed the Declaration of Independence states that "we are endowed by our Creator" with our rights, not by government. There is no guarantee to freedom from religion, only freedom of religion. Since the government is not forcing Michael Newdow or his atheist compatriots to practice Christianity, his case should be thrown out, but since judges like to create new laws and new interpretations of the Constitution as often as Bill Clinton drools over a woman who is not Hillary, we have to worry every time one of these cases come up. These zealots have been pushing the majority of us around for too long now, and I think it is about time we Christians start fighting back. Start calling your Congressmen, Senators, White House, until they appoint justices that follow the Constitution. Until they listen to us or lose their jobs. Vote the bums out if they refuse to listen.

This Time Next Year

Here it is the day before Turkey day and I keep wondering what is it going to be like next year. Are we going to be facing 4 years with Hillary Clinton as president, or 4 years of a liberal Republican president (which is nearly as bad) or will the people of the U.S. get off their butts and vote for someone like Fred Thompson, or Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo. Someone who represents the "get government off our backs" everyday average American? Will we get a socialist like Hillary who wants to tell us who our doctor will be, when we can see a doctor, and where our money will go? Will we get a liberal Republican like Rudy who thinks it is okay to slaughter our unborn children for the sake of women's liberation (some kind of woman you have to be to kill your own child) and thinks that the government has the right to disarm its people, or will we vote for someone like Fred who thinks that you should only become a citizen if you follow the laws, who thinks that an unborn child is a living breathing person, who thinks that Americans can accomplish anything that they set their minds to, who loves our country and our military. Will we get a Fred? I sure hope so, because we are very quickly headed towards losing our freedoms. We take for granted that we will always get to make the decision of what we do with our money, who we see when we are sick, whether we buy a gun to protect ourselves or not. If we don't wake up and start taking our obligations seriously about voting for the best qualified candidates, rather than for the one who promises to give us the most (those are the ones who want to take the most from us) then we will soon find America to be the land of the enslaved and impoverished. We have a choice, but I don't know if we realize the precipice we are sitting on. Ask anyone on medicaid how hard it is to get in to see a dentist or a doctor. That is what the entire country is facing with a Hillary presidency or even a Democrat presidency. Research what it is like in Canada where the waiting lines are so long that Canadians come to America for treatment, or Britain where they pull out their own teeth because it takes so long to get in to a dentist. Do we want this for America? Do we want anyone in the Presidency from the party that has been trying to undermine everything our troops have been doing in Iraq. Who, while reports have been coming in repeatedly in the last few months of success in Iraq, have withheld funding until the President sets a timetable for withdrawal? Do we want these people in charge of our country? Come on America, get up and get involved. Don't vote for someone because you are told to, research where they stand, how they have voted in the past, what they are promising you. But for God's sake, VOTE. You owe it to your children to leave America as good as, if not better than, you found it. Our freedoms are only ours as long as we are willing to defend them. Most people enslaved by their governments were enslaved slowly without noticing the slow erosion of their rights. It is happening here. America has always defended and fought for those who were enslaved by their governments and foreign invaders, but who will save us when it is our government that enslaves us?
